Science Hero personality type is INTP, so I can see how they would be confused with being an INTP, but that's not the case here.
I think this is a bad example, because most of the time, it's the parents that don't understand their child, and not the other way around, so I think it's best to look at what happens when someone has the same personality type as their child. INTP parents are very similar to INTP kids, in that they're both introverted and have a great interest in science. But INTP parents also have a lot of things on their mind that they don't share with their kids, like work and family issues. (Some of them also have a lot of bad habits that they don't talk about with their kids.) Because of all these things, INTP kids don't always know how to connect with their parents, and the INTP parents don't know how to talk to their kids about the things that are weighing on their minds.
The other thing I noticed about this article is that it talks about how some people think that INTPs are smarter than other types.
