Control Freak personality type is ESTJ, a "Theoretical" personality type. ESTJ's gather information, they are the ones who are more concerned with how things work, how they fit together, and how they can be used to solve a problem. They are the most practical of all the extroverted personality types.
This is why ESTJs make such great corporate executives; they are able to take complex problems, break them down into easily understandable steps, and then use their logic and reason to solve the problem. They are very confident in their ability to get things done. In contrast to ISFJ's whiny, "I want it now", style of leadership, ESTJs are able to see the big picture, and then make decisions that enable everyone involved to function at a high level.
While ESTJs are very good at gathering information, they may not be good at organizing it and presenting it in an understandable fashion. This is why they normally work best in a position where they can make decisions based on their own logic and reason, and not be bogged down by too much unnecessary bureaucracy. The best example of this is the police officer.
