At work, he's a quiet, serious type, who analyzes things before acting. For example, in episode 2, he's the one who decides to inform the Mirumo Debito and the Japanese government on their suspicious activities by monitoring their movements. In contrast, he's a laid-back guy at home, often playing video games while drinking tea. He's also quite anti-social, which is what makes him the kind of guy he is (e.g. his first encounter with Haru is one of the rare interactions he has with a girl).
In other words, he's the opposite of Haru.
