The second type of the theory of M-theory is the theory of extraverted mind (E-mind). According to this theory, the difference between the types of extraverted and introverted types is that extraverted types are more interested in external information and tend to be less interested in internal information. Introverts, on the other hand, are more interested in internal information and have a more difficult time processing external information. The theory of E-mind was proposed by David Keirsey (1976), a psychiatrist.
According to Keirsey (1976), introverts have an E-mind and extraverts have an I-mind. The E-mind has a dominant function of extraverted thinking (Te) and a secondary function of introverted judging (Ni). The I-mind has a dominant function of introverted sensing (Si) and a secondary function of extraverted feeling (Fe).
According to Keirsey (1976), introverts are more easily distracted by external stimuli and tend to find it more difficult to concentrate and focus on particular tasks.
