This article is a summary of the main character Jung Chang’s book “I Know You are Thinking That I’m Joon-Young”. The main characters are Joon-Young and Jung Chang herself. The book is about the life of a man who died in his 30s at the age of 31, around 1999.
The author Jung Chang was born in Korea on February 2, 1940, at that time the country was divided into North Korea and South Korea. When she was a child, her father was exiled to Siberia for his political views. Her mother was a brilliant woman who is educated in philosophy, literature and politics. She was also a feminist who wanted to change the world. She loved her husband and children but she died when Jung Chang was 11 years old.
Chang grew up with her mother-in-law and her stepfather.
