John Lakeman (Tavner) personality type is INTJ, and I was definitely the "alpha" of the group. I was the one who not only did the talking, but also did most of the planning and directing of the group. (For the record, I don't think I'm particularly good at that, actually.) It was actually pretty cool that I could get so much done without anyone else in the group needing to contribute. Like my old high school English teacher used to say, "Leadership is all about being able to get others to do the work for you."
I'm not sure how much this is just my personality type or if it has something to do with my upbringing. But I've noticed that I've always taken on leadership roles when it came time to group projects in school. For example, in English class when it came time to organize who would have to write what, I always got to be the one who made sure that everything was done in a timely manner. I remember that seniors would always ask my advice on how they should plan out their senior projects. It wasn't because I was the best writer or the most talented artist, it was because I was the most organized person in the class.
