What Are Personality Types?
Personality types are based on Jung's theory of psychological types. The theory is a kind of shorthand for a more in-depth, nuanced and complicated understanding of the human mind. The theory was developed by psychotherapist Carl Jung in a series of lectures at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts between 1914 and 1921.
In his lectures, he outlined a theory that describes human development as moving through four different stages. For example, he said that every person goes through a phase in life where they feel like they have to be responsible for everything. This phase is called the "anima" phase.
