McCauley was a staff member at the school and had worked there since 2016, according to the email. She said she initially thought of the situation as “a joke” but realized it was serious when the principal told her she could be fired.
“I have never been more appalled by this administration,” McCauley said in an email referring to the principal and school board president. “This is completely unacceptable and deserves public outrage.”
The principal reportedly told McCauley that she “may have to consider leaving our school if this continues,” according to the email.
