Tarkan personality type is ENTP, and he cited his interest in computers and game design as the source of his unusual combination of shyness and assertiveness.
For me, however, the most interesting person I met was an extremely shy, socially awkward young woman who would have probably had a difficult time meeting a date if she wasn’t such a good computer programmer.
Her name was Julia.
She was not a member of my “type”; I would have guessed she was an INFJ or INFP based on her personal style. She was a very introverted person, extremely quiet and unassuming. She spent most of the onboarding event talking to herself in the background while listening to “devotional music” on her iPod. She was clearly uncomfortable with being the center of attention.
Because of her extreme shyness, I didn’t get a chance to talk to her much, but I did notice that she was extremely talented in programming. She is currently enrolled at a local university, majoring in computer science. When I asked her what her favorite aspects of programming were, she told me it was being able to create something new and being able to be creative with code.
