“My daughter is almost 16, and my son is 10. The first time I realised these types were different was when my daughter was young and I’d see her draw. She would draw characters like the dwarf from Snow White and Cinderella. I’d look at them and think she had no idea what she was drawing,” says Pam. “But when I looked closely, it all made sense. The characters had a distinct style, something very unique and different from her drawings of the other Disney princesses.
“I realised she was an INTP, and from that moment on, I started paying more attention to her personality and temperament.”
Her son, on the other hand, has always been more extroverted, with a desire to be the centre of attention. “My son is more likely to be in the limelight and be the social butterfly, whereas my daughter is much more reserved,” says Pam. “And when she’s down on herself, she can be very moody.”
Pam says these differences have created a lot of conflict.
