A jerk who thinks he is better than anyone else. He is rude, arrogant, and not very nice. He may have a good heart as well, but he is not very brave or selfless. He always acts against Ash, regardless of how hard Ash works to help him. He often steals Ash's food and money. He also takes people's Pokemon when they're not looking, and usually uses them for his own benefit. He decides to keep the Pokemon he steals for himself, even though it may be hurt or sick.
His biggest goal is to become a Pokedex designer. He is obsessed with the Pokedex because he has a hard time looking at the Pokeballs. He thinks it is boring to look at other people's Pokemon. He also wants to be a Pokemon researcher mainly because it will help him get his own Pokemon. He seems to respect Ash a lot when they first met, and he even shook hands with him. However, he seems to act as if he's superior to Ash when they battle each other.
