Timothy "Rand" Rand personality type is INTP, although sometimes he's also INTJ, ENTP, or ISTP. I'm a natural-born contrarian. I've been one since I was a child. I'm most comfortable being the lone voice of dissent and having people agree with me because they don't want to be the lone voice of dissent. I like that power.
Wired: What's your argumentative style like?
Rand: I hate to have to do battle with people to get my point across, but I'm very stubborn and I will not back down from an argument. I hate to lose, and I'm not particularly good at apologizing even if it's true. On the other hand, I don't like having people yell at me. And I'm probably not good at it, either.
Wired: How do you feel about your geek identity?
Rand: It's probably not very well understood by the general public, but as a teen, I was very much into science fiction. I read "Forbidden Planet" as a kid, and I read "The Time Machine" when I was 12 or so. It was just the most amazing thing that I'd ever read.
