JW: You have extensive family ties to the music of the bayou. Was that part of your decision to name your debut album “Sippin’ on a Bayou?”
KS: I wanted to put out a record that sounded like this swampy, dark, swampy country music, but also had a pop feel to it. I wanted it to be a blend of both vintage and modern, and I wanted my voice to be the one that brought everything together.
