Yahiko Onoda personality type is INTP, but also ENTP.
This is most likely due to his obsession with the ability to 'tinker' with technology, and his fascination with ancient Japanese texts.
Also, his 'self-awareness' was very much like that of the ENTP. When talking to other characters, he never really felt as though he was 'acting out' his part, or 'acting out his personality', but he more so felt as though he was 'acting'.
Onoda's personality type is INTP. I would like to say that his personality is somewhere between ENTP and INTP, but I'm not a big enough expert to really know. I would say that his problem is that he doesn't know what he wants, and therefore doesn't know what he's doing.

He wants to be a scholar...but the other scholars he meets want to kill him. In the end, he chooses to make weapons for people who are going to die anyway...and that's where he ends up.
