Pope Francis personality type is ENTP, not INTJ. It's one thing to be wrong about your diagnostic, it's another to be wrong on basic type.
But for some reason, the INTJ personality type is getting a lot of attention. I may have missed it, but I don't remember any major news story that featured an INTJ personality type. (Maybe I missed it because I'm not paying attention.)
The INTJ personality is one that has been around since the early 1900s and has been recognized in literature going back to the 1800s. It's not a new idea.
So why are people still getting it wrong?
The answer is probably that there are many ways to be a "N" and INTJs are just one. The N trait of the INTJ is a very specific variation of the N trait, which means it has just as much validity as the others.
How do we know? Just look at the ISTJ and INTJ personality types. They are very different from each other and from each other's relationships in terms of how they express their dominant traits.
