Themis, being a mother goddess, is also associated with the earth, the seasons, childbirth, the harvest, the moon, and the seas. She is always depicted with a cow's head, because cows are sacred to her.
Themis is typically depicted as an old woman with a long straight nose, wearing a sleeveless dress. She is often seen with two serpents at her feet. Her symbol is the scales.
