He wasn't just a good artist, but a very good one. He was accepted to graduate school and had several exhibitions of his work. All of this was very successful for him, but he was also very lonely.
As I said, he was a smart person, who was very creative. So he found ways to make himself feel better by taking things that were not in the possession of other people. He stole furniture from local establishments, jewelry from stores, food from restaurants, toys from stores, and bodies from graves. He did this for years and years.
