Marie-Dominique Chenu, in the introduction to his book, The Enneagram: A New Christian Way of Understanding Human Relationships, tells us that “the Enneagram is a Christian tradition.” He further explains that it was “the founder of the Enneagram,” the German-born mystic G.H.J. The Enneagram is a nine-pointed star with a circle in the center. It was first developed in the early 1900s by a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church named George Gurdjieff, who claimed to have received his knowledge directly from Christ.
