You can read all about her on her website, but the best part is that she's on a mission to influence more people to ditch their computers and start writing.
I was lucky enough to be able to talk with her about some of the things she's learned and how online language has shifted since she started writing and blogging in 2007.
Daria: I started blogging in 2007 and I was on an MFA program for writing at Queens College. I was reading a lot of blogs and just wanted to find out how other writers worked. It was a time when blogging platforms were just starting to come out and this was before Twitter and Facebook and all that kind of stuff. If you were a writer, you blogged. It was the only way you could get your writing out there.
I wanted to be a writer and I wanted to get my writing out there and I didn't know where to start. I did a lot of research and ended up designing my own blog, launched it, got a little bit of traffic and started getting comments on my posts.
