Born in 1944 in Tokyo, Japan, Takeda was born to a poor family, who lived in a small town near Nagoya. His family was poor but dynamic and was known for its financial success in the region.
Takeda attended Tokyo Imperial University and graduated in the year 1966. He then worked as a computer programmer for two years with the Japanese Space Agency. In 1969, he joined Sony where he became a programmer and later a senior software engineer.
