Headless Horseman personality type is ESTJ, and I'm more like an INTP.
I'm not sure what it is that makes me so interested in the mythology, but I think it's because of my love of games. I love making stories, in my mind. It's just a natural thing for me.
So I think that it's pretty much the same thing that attracts people to horror movies. Horror movies are great because they scare you in a very visceral way. It's something that we don't get to do in real life. We're always afraid of something that is completely irrational, something that's completely out of our control. It's like psychological warfare.
That's what I kind of fell into with my writing. I've been writing since I was a kid. But I never really thought I would be able to make a living as a writer until I came up with this idea of a horror universe.
Everything just kind of fell into place after that.
I do a lot of research on the Internet, but what I'm doing now is a lot of research on my own, just to as deep as I can go, just so that I know the mythology and how everything fits together.
