It feels a bit like I’ve jumped the gun, but I very much enjoyed the I/O chapter of Thinking, Fast and Slow, and got the impression that this is a book that emphasises the power of introspection and reflection. So I’m going to write this post as if we’re all introverts. Which we are.
Introverts hate being around people, and they hate talking about themselves. In fact, they hate taking part in group activities so much that they’re likely to find even a group activity like a book club too much.
I once met a group of introverts who had formed a book club. They ended up leaving in a hurry, because the first meeting was an hour-long chat about book clubs.
It wasn’t their fault that they hated book clubs, but I think it would have been better for them to have made that clear from the beginning.
The thing is, introverts aren’t any different from extroverts when it comes to liking other people and talking to them.
