I have been interested in magic for as long as I can remember. It has always been a way of communicating and expressing myself in a creative way. I also got really into computers, which I find both magical and fascinating.
At the age of 10 I was performing magic for my friends at parties and family gatherings. I continued with magic for many years, although my performance was usually more private. The first public show I did was at age eleven. I was very influenced by the work of Harry Anderson, who had also been performing magic since childhood and emerged as a magician in the 1960s. He was my hero.
By the age of 13 or 14, I had learned the basics of close-up magic but I had never seen a card trick that really made me go, “Wow! That’s amazing!” I wanted to know how to do this properly.
