The family has lived in the same house in the small town of Corinaldo in central Italy for 20 years, since after it was built in 1996 by Fabrizio.
On Oct. 30, Fabrizio visited the house to check on the renovation work that had begun after he died in May, before returning home to his wife and children in Brescia.

“If I had known that my husband was planning to come back to see the house, I would have put more bricks on the walls,” says Rocio.
