Durin the Deathless personality type is ENTJ, and it was that as well as the game’s mechanics that prompted me to leave these behind.
The D&D 5e character sheet is a lot simpler, and it’s more flexible than the one in 1e. It is, however, very opaque in terms of how it communicates information to a player. For example, the sheet doesn’t tell you who your character is or what kind of person they are. It also doesn’t give you any clues as to why your character is going on an epic quest. This can be frustrating.
I have come up with a few ways of addressing this. One is by using personality type, one is by using the character class, and the other is through the appearance of the character sheet. I will discuss these in turn.
Personality Type
The personality type field on the character sheet has a few purposes. It tells you your character’s personality type, which affects their alignment, their attitudes towards their environment, and their relationships with other people. I also use it to tell my players about their characters’ backgrounds and motivations.
