In the essay I refer to three kinds of theories:
1) A theory is a formalized account of the world that is coherent with the scientific method.
2) A theory is a set of testable propositions that explain observations that are consistent with the scientific method.
3) A theory is a comprehensive account of reality, encompassing all possible observations and thus encompassing all possible explanations.
The Nonomiya personality type is a character type, and is not a theory. It does not refer to a set of testable propositions. It does not refer to a comprehensive account of reality. It does not explain observations. It does not explain reality. It is not coherent with the scientific method. It does not explain anything. So it is not a theory.
I have argued that each personality type that I have described corresponds to one of the three kinds of theories that I listed above.
