As a child he noticed that he did not want to do anything. Even though he did not have a specific reason to do so, he would feel a need to be alone. He did not understand why this was so, but he believed that it just was. He could not get out of bed or take a shower by himself, he could not get to school on time, and he could not get food from the kitchen to his room. He realized that he needed to have someone else with him, and he looked for someone else to come and get him. As a child this was his only way out and the only way to stop the feeling.
As an adult, he has realized that he is afraid of physically getting himself up and proceeding to do physically complex tasks. He has completely given up on himself and is unable to make any progress in his own life. He has decided that the only way to get out of bed and take a shower is to ask someone else to do it for him.
