When I was in school, I was told I was very logical and analytical. I was often badgered for my opinions on topics like global warming and the role of government. I was told that I would never be able to relate to people on a personal level.
I’m sure many of you have heard these kinds of statements. The thing is, I am a very logical person when it comes to philosophy, science and politics. But I can also see the emotional side of things and I can relate to people on an emotional level. When I was a teenager, I used to spend hours reading and writing poetry. And I have always been able to relate to people emotionally, even as a child.
I was also told that I would never be able to make money. Which is ridiculous because I have a good job and make a decent amount of money. It’s the story I told myself over and over again.
I wanted to believe people when they told me I couldn’t make money and that I should just go back to school and get my degree. But it wasn’t true.
