Teelan personality type is INTP, but I'd say INFJ. One of my best friends is an INFJ, and I was just talking to her about this post, and she's exactly the kind of person you're describing.
Some of the things you mentioned are definitely INFJ traits. They're very analytical, they're good at putting things into perspective, they're good at seeing the big picture, etc. But it also sounds like they're probably more Fi-ish than Ti-ish.
I think INFJs are often misdiagnosed with INTP because of the same problem with the introversion. INFJs are often labeled introverts because they spend less time at parties than other introverts, but no one would describe them as quiet (which is what you're describing). However, they're also quiet in their own right, and in the same way that introverts are socially reserved in some situations, INFJs are socially reserved in other situations. INFJs are socially reserved in social situations where they don't want to interact with people, and they're also socially reserved in situations where they don't want to be the center of attention.
You might think of INFJs as being almost like introvert extroverts.
