The chapter begins with a close up of Kaname's sleeping face. A single, tear drops slowly down his cheek. Nana and the others look over to Kaname's sleeping face and begin to worry even more about him becoming an emotional wreck, or worse, a suicidal wreck.
Sanada then says that Kaname has been like this since he woke up, and is worried about him. Then, they head over to Kaname's room, and see him staring at the ceiling with his eyes wide open.
Kaname then says "I am awake." His face has turned charcoal black, and the only thing on his face is a single tear drop. He then says "I am awake." He then collapses to the ground.
Nana then says that she will call the doctor immediately.
The chapter then shows another close up of Kaname's face. A single tear drops down his cheek.
The chapter then shows the nurse breaking down in tears. The nurse is seen cutting herself with a knife, and she screams out "Why?! Why so cruel?!" The nurse then collapses to the ground.
Kencho is fully aware that he was conceived with the sole purpose of being a "backup" in case his sister ever dies or abandons her obligations towards her family. This fact was never hidden from him. As a result, his self-identity is based entirely on his relationship to Megami, and his sense of self-worth is derived by comparing himself to her. He is not content to exist as a "backup" and strives to surpass his sister. However, his sister can outperform him in absolutely every way, which has caused him to develop an extreme inferiority complex.
