Lorenzo Montero personality type is INTP, as I’ve mentioned earlier. However, I believe that he was probably an INTP as a child, but he simply repressed his rational and analytical tendencies, because it hindered his social life. He was a very intelligent boy, but he was socially inept.
In high school, there were some of those kids who were very gifted in science and math, but who were socially inept. It was much easier for them to study than to interact with people. It’s a very sad commentary on the state of American education today.
To illustrate the point, I have a friend – let’s call him Jim – who also has a son named Lorenzo. Jim has another son who is very gifted in math, but who is socially inept. So Jim named his son Lorenzo. He said, “Let’s call him Lorenzo because he’s just like my son Lorenzo in high school.” That’s the kind of social situation that Lorenzo was stuck in.
