The other day I went on an all-day trip with a friend, and in the early morning just before we were to get on a bus to go home, my friend and I made a pit stop at one of the stations on the way home. He said he wanted to buy some sweets and snacks, and as we headed toward the vending machines, we were surprised to see an old man standing by the machines. My friend asked me if I knew what he was up to. I guess my memory of the old man was a little hazy so I thought I'd better look at him more closely. It turns out he was standing there with his back to us, working on a vending machine. It was really weird because he was using his back to push in the buttons, but he had his arms folded behind his back, like he was holding something. He was completely ignoring us as he bent over and worked on the machine. He kept looking over his shoulder at us, as if he didn't even realize we were there. Meanwhile, my friend and I were trying to decide what to get.
