The Andy Kaufman character was an eccentric, impish comedian. He performed his routines in the most bizarre of situations. His comedy was not for everyone. He was very intelligent and had a unique way of making people laugh at himself even though they did not know why. His shows were often surreal and not for everyone. He often came across as arrogant, cocky, and self-deprecating. He was also very shy. He would often try to hide his food in his mouth when he was eating, as if he were a dog.
