The False Prophet, then, has a very clear-cut job description, and he does it effectively. He is in charge of the economic systems and banks of the world, and he does an excellent job of it. He also becomes the voice of reason to a world that has been lost in a fog of confusion. He is the one that reminds humanity that they are still alive, and they still have a chance to survive.

There is just one problem, of course—the False Prophet has his own agenda. His job description was never to save humanity; his job description was to destroy humanity so it will be easier for the Beast to take over. So the False Prophet, who is supposed to be on the side of humanity, actually works toward its destruction.

This is important to understand because the False Prophet is not an evil character.

*Notice: the second beast is neither the first beast nor Satan and is regarded as a different entity*

The second beast comes "out of the earth" and directs all peoples of the earth to worship the first beast. The second beast is associated with Revelation 13:11–18 the false prophet.

The two beasts are aligned with the dragon in opposition to God. They persecute the "saints" and those who do "not worship the image of the beast [of the sea]" and influence the kings of the earth to gather for the battle of Armageddon. The two beasts are defeated by Christ and are thrown into the lake of fire mentioned in Revelation 19:18–20.
