    I don’t really have a favorite song. I like to sing “This Land Is Your Land,” “Waltz of the Flowers,” and “Sea Lion Woman.”

    What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s happened to you during a live show?

    One time we played in a bar and I was really nervous and I had to go change into a different outfit while we were playing. And I had to do it in front of about 15 people. When I came back on stage, I made the mistake of saying, “I’m back,” and I freaked out more people.

    Favorite part of your job?

    I like the interaction with the crowd—when they love something that you do, it’s really cool. And I like that I get to talk a lot during a set.

    Courtney Melba Barnett (born 3 November 1987) is an Australian singer, songwriter and musician. Known for her deadpan singing style and witty, rambling lyrics. Barnett's debut album, Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, was released in 2015 to widespread acclaim. In 2017, she released Lotta Sea Lice, a collaborative album with Kurt Vile. Barnett's second album, Tell Me How You Really Feel, was released in 2018.
