Dave Rowntree personality type is ISTJ, or “The Inspector.” ISTJs are often described as “health and safety nuts” and “by-the-book” people. I describe my type as a “hobbyist”—a term ISTJs used for themselves when they were younger. I like to think of myself as a “hobbyist” who has graced the world with her hobby (writing).
One thing I’ve learned in all my years of being a type, is that no one else is going to tell me how to live my life, what to read, or what to write. I have to do it all by myself. If I can’t live my life according to my own rules, then I’m not living at all.
I don’t believe in following rules. Most of the time, I don’t even believe in following my own rules. But when it comes to writing, I do believe in following a few basic guidelines.

I wrote this book because I love writing about the ESTJ personality type.
