"I've always been interested in psychology and personality types and what makes people tick. I think that's part of my general curiosity," he said.
"But also having watched the series, I was interested in what made American politicians tick. So it's interesting to see these words come out of these personalities."
Mr Clarke said he was not afraid to talk about his "feelings" on Twitter or Instagram.
