The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is a tool that helps us understand ourselves and others. We all have a certain blend of preferences and a certain blend of functions. For example, if I am a creative type, I’m a creative extrovert, a creative introvert, a creative thinker, a creative feeler, or a creative perceiver. The MBTI helps me understand how my preferences work with other people and maybe why I have some of the traits I do.
This is not to say that the MBTI is perfect. In fact it has its flaws, especially in the area of Jungian archetypes.
