Anglican Theology personality type is ISTJ, which is the "guardian" personality type. They are the "watchmen" of the Church, the ones who act with discernment and act to preserve the Church's "uniformity". They are the ones who act to protect the Church from moral decline, and they are the ones who act to define and defend the true understanding of Jesus Christ.
I would like to call this "the 'lock down' position", which in some ways is very similar to how an ISTJ is in my experience. There is a tendency in my experience when dealing with ISTJs to not want to open the door for new things or ideas (especially in hindsight), because they view this as opening the door for the possibility of parts of the truth being destroyed. For example, when I was in high school, I started to go to church with some friends, and my friends' parents were ISTJs. I remember talking with them one time about going to a youth group, and their response was something along the lines of "We've been going to this youth group for 30 years. We don't want to change anything".
