What is the personality type of Irrationalism? Which MBTI personality type best fits? Personality type for Irrationalism from Schools Of Philosophy and what is the personality traits.
Irrationalism personality type is INFP, but I don’t think INFP is a well understood type, and I’m not sure that it is a good fit for this post. I still want to claim it, but I think I’ll wait until the type hierarchy settles down a bit more.
The INFP is very likely to be a self-aware and thoughtful type. They’re the type that will be good at therapy and good at therapy with themselves, and they like to be around people who like to do both of those things.
INFPs are also the type who will be surprised at how many people in the world don’t like to think about themselves, and they’re the type that will be okay with that. They like to compare themselves to others, but they don’t like to be compared to them. They’re the type that will feel insecure while reading a book on philosophy or psychology or some other abstract topic. They’re the type who likes music that makes them have an existential crisis. They will be passionate about things that are important to them, but they will have trouble understanding why other people are passionate about things that are not important to them.
Irrationalism is in this sense generally understood as an ambiguously-defined philosophical movement of the 19th and early-20th centuries, such criticisms "do not share a philosophical tradition as much as a skeptical disposition toward the notion, common among modern thinkers, that there is only one standard of rationality or reasonableness, and that that one standard is or ought to be taken from the presuppositions, methods, and logic of the natural sciences."
Ontological irrationalism, a position adopted by Arthur Schopenhauer, describes the world as not organized in a rational way. Since humans are born as bodies-manifestations of an irrational striving for meaning, they are vulnerable to pain and suffering.
