While I’m not sure I agree with all of Gray’s characterizations here, I do agree that the ISTJ personality type is not one to go out of his way to make people happy. He doesn’t think he needs to make people happy. He is the person who forces the decision to take action and do something. The ESTP is the complete opposite. He loves to make people happy and lives to make the world a better place. (The “P” in ESTP stands for “Perceiving” and means that ENTJs are more action-oriented than the other types.)
