As an INFJ, I have two dominant functions: extroverted intuition (Ne) and introverted feeling (Fi). I have a strong preference for thinking with my Ne, which is where my ability to “think outside the box” really comes from.
But I also have strong preferences for thinking with my Fi, which is where my ability to “feel inside the box” comes from.
This preference for thinking with my Fi is what causes me to be interested in things that are relevant to my own pain. It’s why I am drawn to helping others who are suffering, whether it be by teaching them how to feel better about themselves, or by teaching them how to feel better about whatever it is they’re suffering from.
My other dominant function is extroverted sensing (Se), which is why I enjoy learning new things. Since I love learning new things, I also enjoy teaching others how to learn new things. When I see people struggling to pick up new skills or learn new information, I often think they could benefit from my help.
