Helen Cho personality type is INTP, the Idealist. But for some reason, she has been so emotionally unavailable to Darcy. And Darcy has been hurt so much by her cold, distant, and uncaring behavior that he's become quite manipulative in his efforts to get her to open up to him.
I don't think he's ever known what to do with her. She's always been too good for him. She may have cared about him, but Darcy wasn't very good for her. He was too immature, too selfish, too insecure, too careless, too weak. And he was wounded by her rejection of him, so he had no self-confidence, no sense of self-worth, couldn't be happy unless Darcy was "in control."
Darcy manipulated her into believing that he loved her, and she let him down easily, without a fight. He told her what she wanted to hear. He set conditions and pushed them as far as he could, and she came through for him with flying colors.
But she never loved Darcy. She never loved him as much as she loved herself.
She didn't share herself with him, and she kept those feelings to herself.
