What is the personality type of Mircea Eliade? Which MBTI personality type best fits? Personality type for Mircea Eliade from Western Philosophy and what is the personality traits.
Mircea Eliade personality type is INTP, which is strictly speaking not actually an introverted intuition type, but it's close enough to be almost identical. I'm using the notation that is used in NurtureShock, but the difference is that the Myers-Briggs definitions are split into four different triplets.
The MBTI site has the following introvert/extravert chart:
I've gone through and added in the extravert/introvert combinations for which I have the MBTI type, and I've used the MBTI names for all the types rather than the more common names.

Myers-Briggs is a personality test that has been around since 1938. It's a test used by employers to try to work out whether someone is a good fit for some position or not. It's a test that is supposed to help people build some kind of psychological model of themselves and others.
Mircea Eliade (March 9 [O.S. February 24] 1907 – April 22, 1986) was a Romanian historian of religion, fiction writer, philosopher, and professor at the University of Chicago. He was a leading interpreter of religious experience, who established paradigms in religious studies that persist to this day. His theory that hierophanies form the basis of religion, splitting the human experience of reality into sacred and profane space and time, has proved influential. One of his most influential contributions to religious studies was his theory of Eternal Return, which holds that myths and rituals do not simply commemorate hierophanies, but, at least to the minds of the religious, actually participate in them.
