Russo is very much like me in my history as a political activist and as an interviewer — he has a lot of my mannerisms and has a knack for making people uncomfortable with his direct and honest analysis. He also has a very good analysis of the political process and how it works. I can appreciate and enjoy that.
However, I do not like what he says about Iran and Iraq, nor do I think he is correct regarding Ukraine and Russia.
I’m afraid the American public is being lied to by politicians and their media, and I think Russo is one of those pushing propaganda to advance the agenda of the United States government. I despise that type of political operative — and I loathe what he says — but I do not consider him to be a fake news outlet.
I believe he is sincere and that he genuinely feels that way, even though his analysis is erroneous and his actions and words do not reflect that feeling at all.
I understand that he is an entertainer who has to sell tickets to pay his bills, but he should be allowed to say what he wants.
Aaron Russo (February 14, 1943 – August 24, 2007) was an American entertainment businessman, film producer and director, and political activist. He was best known for producing movies including Trading Places, Wise Guys, and The Rose. Later in life, he created various libertarian-leaning political documentaries including Mad as Hell and America: Freedom to Fascism.
