In my own experience of growing up, I found that my mother’s energy was always very stimulating, and I enjoyed her company. My father, on the other hand, seemed to be more of an “on-off” type of person; I remember that he would be very attentive and loving one moment and then totally withdrawn the next. Even though I was very young when he died, this pattern seemed to continue with my father’s family, and my mother’s family, as well.
I have come to understand that my father was an ENTP, or Extraverted, Intuitive, Thinking, Perceiving. He had the same energy as my mother, but he seemed to be more abrupt and less affectionate when he was with his family.
In addition to the influence of their places of birth, the two types of people also have different approaches to communication. The INTP is a more private person who prefers to express his thoughts in his own way and at his own pace. The ENTP is a more outgoing and communicative person who wants to speak freely and openly.
