I think it's very similar to yours. I had a very deep relationship with my father when I was a kid, we were very close, he told me everything and I felt safe with him. But then, when I was older, I started to realize that there was something wrong, he would say things that I didn't understand, like "somehow your father will get hurt" or "you have to be careful". Sometimes I thought, it's because of me because I'm not good, but it was just his way to be there for me. When my father died, I realized that he never loved me and we never had any connection at all. As I grew older and started to understand other people better, I realized why my father was like that, he was an INFP, but he had a very deep inferior function, that function was Si. And he was using his Si to be a good parent for me and for the rest of the world.
