I think we can all agree that the media is biased. So, I don’t think we should be surprised to see a bias in the personality types of those who influence our opinions.
But the media is so much more than just a source of information. It is a major player in our society. It is an important part of our culture. And, as such, it has a great influence on the way we think and live our lives.
So, we can’t just dismiss the media as a source of information and move on. We should engage with the media and think critically about how it influences us and shapes our opinions and values.
We don’t need to agree with everything the media says and this isn’t a call for us to become “thoroughly liberal” or “thoroughly conservative.” We just need to understand the media and why we react the way we do to it. And to make sure we are using our own minds to form our opinions rather than becoming a mindless pawn in the media’s over-reaching agenda.
