Ansem, Seeker of Darkness personality type is INTP, and I used a similar profile. I didn't use this because I'm a writer/filmmaker, rather because it helped me to identify myself with a type.
I think INTPs are misunderstood because of their inability to understand how other people think, or that other people have their own opinions, or that people have to have "answers" to things. In short, they're too critical of themselves and others.
This is why they tend to be good at figuring out how things work, because they can understand the logic behind it. However, they don't understand why people want to do things, or why people have to do things the way they do. They can't even begin to understand how people can be smart and stupid at the same time, or how people can be "good" and "bad" at the same time.
INTPs are only good at deciphering how things work, not why things happen at all. I think this is why they tend to be poor at communicating with others. They know what is right and wrong in theory, but not why anyone should do it in practice, and they cannot comprehend how other people could think differently.
