Nematode personality type is INTP, not ISTP.

The only difference between the fictional and the real-life characters was that the real-life characters were psychopathic and not sociopathic.

The theory of the "Nematode Personality Type" was invented by, and is continued by, a group of people who call themselves "Nematode Behaviorists". These people claim that the prevalence of the ISTP personality type in the population is due to a selective breeding process known as "Nematodeism". They consider this to be one of the greatest triumphs of human thought, and they often use it as an analogy for other issues such as "politically correct racism", "cognitive genocide", and "anti-semitism".

According to the theory, there are three possible types of human beings, which can be depicted as three different kinds of worms: nematodes, insects, and vertebrates. The theory claims that this is because all three types of creatures (nematodes, insects, and vertebrates) possess a brain consisting of a central nervous system and a peripheral nervous system.

The nematodes or roundworms constitute the phylum Nematoda, with plant-parasitic nematodes also known as eelworms. They are a diverse animal phylum inhabiting a broad range of environments. Taxonomically, they are classified along with insects and other moulting animals in the clade Ecdysozoa, and unlike flatworms, have tubular digestive systems with openings at both ends. Like tardigrades, they have a reduced number of Hox genes, but as their sister phylum Nematomorpha has kept the ancestral protostome Hox genotype, it shows that the reduction has occurred within the nematode phylum. Nematode species can be difficult to distinguish from one another. Consequently, estimates of the number of nematode species described to date vary by author and may change rapidly over time. A 2013 survey of animal biodiversity published in the mega journal Zootaxa puts this figure at over 25,000. Estimates of the total number of extant species are subject to even greater variation.
